Needless to say, I'm going to throw out the usual review formalities and write on my gripes of this game and the companies that designed and published it. There isn't much of a story to Big Rigs. You're a trucker in a "race" to deliver cargo to its intended destination while as the box professes "avoiding the law".
There are two catches to this statement. First, there's no sign of any cops. Second, you barely have an opponent. You begin a race at a starting line with another truck, but it doesn't really go anywhere.
The result? You guessed it. You win every time. The trouble starts right off the bat. You get a generic looking main menu. I went into the options to adjust the settings, since the game defaulted to resolution of x You can only toggle texture quality between low and normal and the game tops the resolution off at x You can choose between two game modes, custom and random race. After choosing your game type, you're taken to a truck selection screen.
Alexandre 0 point. Hello 0 point. This game is very good. The High quality graphics and immersive gameplay makes it great. It is also a great family game. I rather open the ruptured septic tank filled with blended pieces of goat, dog, and horse sheet that combined with pork scent and chili seeds, plunged myself in, lick, chew, and swallow them!!!
Zan 4 points. The greatest game of its time. With graphics this realistic and enticing game play, it is easy to see why people world wide enjoy this wonderful game. I think it is perfect for any occasion and will keep anyone coming back for more!
CD-ROM -3 points. This game sucks! There's no collisions and the only thing to do is just pass throught objects, laugh at the quality and win on purpose for the "You're Winner" screen. CD Player -1 point. This game is extremely bad. There's no collisions and you go trought everything, it just doesn't make sense. Dickfaggotson 25 points. PortalGames -1 point. Eli 3 points. Ah, Big Rigs. The pinnacle of "so bad it's good".
What is there to say about this game? It's a racing game. Plain and simple. You control semi-trucks that are racing throughout various locations in a desperate attempt to get to the finish line first. But then, you notice things. It will just sit there and wait for you to come and drive past it. There is absolutely zero challenge here, but it is funny, especially if you are playing with a friend watching.
If you think the fact that the AI truck does not actually try and win is the strangest thing about Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing… you are not even close. This game has no physics. By that I mean there is buildings, trees, and stuff on the tracks, you can just drive through them like you are some kind of ghost truck or like you are Kitty Pryde from the X-Men! You can even leave the confines of the gaming world and just drive off into oblivion, all the while the speedometer is just going round and round.
You can actually go faster when driving in reverse which is funny. Well yes, it is. It is so bad though that you find yourself playing it just to see what the heck is going to happen next. You ain't working for the Man any more! You're the owner of your own trucking business and you call the shots.
